16-30 Twin City Restoration

16-30 Twin City restoration.

Found some pretty good color on this dirt-caked side curtain bracket.

The crankshaft requires grinding, first step to getting it out was getting the flywheel off.

I lost some of my other pictures when the old site went down, I planning on putting them back up sometime this week.

Compressing the valve spring

Pulling out the keeper

Pulling out the first valve

The Valve seat right after I pulled
the valve out.

This is how the cylinders looked as soon as
I took the head off, not too bad!  Just
a little bit of surface rust, but a lot of it
wiped right off with just a rag.

I took the gasket off, it came in one piece
without tearing at all.

This is all the junk I poured out of the
head's water passages, I think it might
get hot tanked, or some other kind of cleaning

I took the lugs off, the bolts were all quite
loose and the lugs pretty beat up.

This is what greeted me as I pulled the
exhaust manifold off

I poured all this out of the manifold.
